  Introduction
The Parks and Gardens UK project is about historic parks, gardens and designed green spaces in the United Kingdom. It is led by the Parks and Gardens Data Partnership (PGDP) and is supported by the Heritage Lottery Fund. The partners in the PGDP are the Association of Gardens Trusts and the Department of Archaeology, University of York.
The project aims to encourage people to research, record, understand and enjoy the rich heritage of historic parks, gardens and designed green spaces in the United Kingdom. It is bringing together experts and non-experts to research and record historic parks and gardens, collating existing information about sites, and creating a web resource which is due to go online April 2007.
